Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan, guard Brandon Scherff and tackle Trent Williams were named Tuesday to the 2018 Pro Bowl

Linebacker Zach Brown and cornerback Josh Norman were named as alternates.

This will be Williams’ sixth straight selection and the second straight for Kerrigan and Scherff. Williams has played excellently this year despite dealing with a bone bruise and a torn ligament in his knee. It would be a major shock, however, if Williams ended up playing in the Pro Bowl.

Kerrigan, who was elected to the Pro Bowl for the third time in his career, has nine sacks this season. Kerrigan, according to Pro Football Focus, has notched at least four pressures in eight of the Redskins’ games this season. Kerrigan did not play last year in the game.

Kerrigan and Williams were both named as starters.

Scherff, the Redskins’ starting right guard, has been solid all year and overcame a MCL sprain, which sidelined him for two games in the middle of the season.

Last year, the Redskins had five players named to the Pro Bowl. Quarterback Kirk Cousins and tight end Jordan Reed did not make it this year.

Reed is no surprise, given he played in a career-low six games. Cousins’ absence, on the other hand, might initially seem surprising, but it’s not a huge one considering Carson Wentz, Russell Wilson and Drew Brees were named to the roster instead. All three have had better seasons than Cousins.
