Sen. Jeff Merkley said Tuesday that President Trump needs to be held accountable just like other men accused of sexual harassment.

“It’s fundamental accountability. That’s what it boils down to,” Mr. Merkley, Oregon Democrat, said on CNN.

Mr. Merkley was among the four senators who called on Mr. Trump to resign Monday after allegations from three of his previous accusers went public again.

The three women were on NBC’s “Megyn Kelly Today” reigniting the sexual harassment claims regarding the president.

The senator also said that if Sen. Al Franken, Minnesota Democrat, and other members of Congress were pushed to resign because of allegations against them, then the president should be held to the same standard.

The president has denied all claims of sexual harassment.
