BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont man is due in court after being arrested on charges he cut the throat of an acquaintance near Burlington’s City Hall Park following a dispute.
Burlington Police say 28-year-old Conner Lucas, a transient, was arrested Tuesday night after the fight near the corners of Main and Church streets in Burlington.
Officers found a male victim bleeding “profusely from a stab wound to the neck.” The victim, whose name was not released, underwent emergency surgery at the University of Vermont Medical Center. A second victim received less serious injuries.

Lucas, who police say has an extensive criminal record, was later arrested several blocks away.
He was due in court Wednesday. Lucas’s attorney had no immediate comment.
