CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A West Virginia man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison stemming from a drug-related shooting.
Thirty-two-year-old Tyrese Antonio McMillon of Parkersburg was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Charleston for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Prosecutors say McMillon admitted having a pistol that was used in a May 2016 shooting at a Parkersburg apartment. McMillon was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a 2006 felony drug possession conviction in Cabell County.
According to court records, McMillon shot a heroin dealer from Pittsburgh in the head and robbed him of heroin and a gun. McMillon was arrested during a traffic stop of a taxi in which he was riding.
