RENO, Nev. (AP) - State wildlife officials have been able to release trout into a northwest Nevada reservoir for the first time in 20 years due to wet conditions this past winter.

KRNV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2ph8Wpb) the Nevada Department of Wildlife stocked the Lahontan Reservoir with 5,500 rainbow trout over the weekend.

The release comes after years of prolonged drought in northern Nevada that had a significant impact on the reservoir’s fish population.
