The Washington Nationals activated Trea Turner from the 10-day disabled list Friday. Turner was placed on the list after a right hamstring strain occurred against the Philadelphia Phillies on April 9.

In his place, Wilmer Difo played shortstop and Adam Eaton hit leadoff.

To make room on the 25-man roster for Turner, the Nationals designated Grant Green for assignment.

Turner was not in Friday’s starting lineup. Eaton remained atop the lineup and Difo was hitting second and playing shortstop. Multiple Nationals players were receiving Friday night off. Catcher Matt Weiters and left fielder Jayson Werth, the latter of which left Wednesday’s game because of “groin spasms”, were out of the lineup. Jose Lobaton was in for Weiters and Chris Heisey was in for Werth. Ryan Zimmerman also received a day off. Adam Lind played first base for him.

Washington (10-5) is coming off a three-game sweep of the Atlanta Braves. It opens a three-game series Friday with the rival New York Mets, who are dealing with multiple injury problems.

Jacob deGrom was supposed to start Friday for the Mets, but he was pushed back to Saturday because of a stiff neck. Matt Harvey will start in his place. The Mets also placed Lucas Duda (hyperextended left elbow) and Wilmer Flores (right knee infection) on the 10-day disabled list Friday. Yoenis Cespedes left Thursday’s game because of a cramp in his left hamstring. He was not in Friday’s lineup.
