DERRY, N.H. (AP) - Police say they arrested a New Hampshire man in a swamp following a high-speed chase through several communities.

Shane Collins was arrested on Wednesday.

Police say he took off from a traffic stop in Haverhill, Massachusetts, in a stolen pickup truck. Officers pursued him through Salem, Hampstead, Derry and Sandown. Police said it ended in Chester, where Collins ditched the truck and ran off.

Police searched for him for hours until he was spotted. The chase ended in a chest-deep swamp.

He faces charges of possessing stolen property, resisting arrest, and warrants on theft charges in other communities. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer.
