RAINELLE, W.Va. (AP) - The number of volunteers helping rebuild homes in Rainelle following major floods in West Virginia has increased.

Appalachia Service Project Center Director Chris Schroeder was quoted by WVVA-TV (https://bit.ly/2cG2aPD ) as saying that volunteer numbers have increased quickly and often. He says he is getting emails about volunteer groups that want to work and help with whatever they can.

Mullican Flooring is one of the businesses helping rebuild the community. The company says it has donated all the flooring for the new homes Rainelle.

Schroeder says one of the homes being rebuilt will be completed by Oct. 14. He says volunteers just need a few minor details before the house is ready for move-in.
