LANSING, Mich. (AP) - The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is hosting open houses and driving tours at several of its managed waterfowl hunt areas in early October.
They offer an opportunity to learn about opportunities for hunting, trapping and other outdoor recreation.
The open houses will be held at Crow Island State Game Area in Zilwaukee; Fish Point State Game Area in Unionville; St. Clair Flats State Wildlife Area on Harsens Island; Nayanquing Point State Wildlife Area in Pinconning; Pointe Mouillee State Game Area in Rockwood; and Shiawassee River State Game Area in St. Charles.
The tours will feature habitat improvements and other management techniques that make the areas more attractive for wildlife.
Visitors also will learn about the Michigan Waterfowl Legacy, a program designed to improve conditions for waterfowl.
