Carnegie Deli, a 79-year-old Midtown Manhattan landmark, will close its doors forever at the end of the year.

NY1.com reported on Friday that the owners of the Carnegie Deli have confirmed that Dec. 31, 2016, will be the eatery’s last day of operation.

“The Carnegie Deli name will live on at its other locations in Madison Square Garden, Las Vegas, and Pennsylvania,” NY1.com noted, but that just isn’t the same to fans of the original location at 7th Avenue and West 55th Street.

“Terrible news about @carnegiedeli to start the new year. So very sad. Waiting in that line outside was worth it every time. #ShanaTova,” tweeted Max Winitz of Sarasota, Florida.

“I’m sure it will be replaced by yet another Starbucks or worse, a JambaJuice,” quipped another fan.

“Or a Duane Reade. Because we don’t have nearly enough of those,” tweeted a woman in reply.
