Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos will be out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL, according to manager Dusty Baker.

Ramos exited Monday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the sixth inning after jumping for a high throw from first baseman Ryan Zimmerman. Ramos landed awkwardly and clutched his right knee, the same knee that required surgery after a torn ACL and MCL in 2012. Ramos was helped off the field.

Ramos, who was named to the National League All Star Game for the first time in his career, hit a career-high 22 home runs this season and recorded a career-high .307 batting average, second among all NL catchers. Ramos also caught 37 percent of his total base runners stealing.

As a result of the Ramos injury, the Nationals have recalled catcher Spencer Kieboom from Double-A Harrisburg to the 40-man roster. Jose Lobaton, who has appeared in 35 games for the Nationals this season, will likely take Ramos’ spot as the starting catcher. Lobaton is .220 this year and has one home run. Additionally, the Nationals have Pedro Severino on roster. Severino has appeared in 12 games this season.
