TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - A former Lee County Adult Jail detention officer faces a charge of felony sexual assault.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2dwNULk) 23-year-old Andy Dustin Jackson appeared before Circuit Court Judge Thomas Gardner without an attorney for a probable cause hearing on Tuesday. According to testimony, Jackson admitted having consensual sex with a female prisoner earlier this month.
Investigator Lt. Scotty Reedy said Jackson struck up a relationship with a female prisoner who was booked into the jail on Aug. 8.

Reedy said Jackson and the prisoner met in the jail’s medical office on Sept. 8 and had sex. He says both later signed affidavits admitting the act.
Jackson is free on a $3,500 bond.
Sheriff Jim Johnson agreed to a low bond amount to avoid disruptions at the jail.
