It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Cleveland Brown quarterbacks.

First, Robert Griffin broke a bone in his shoulder and is expected to miss 10-12 weeks. Then, Josh McCown injured his shoulder a game later, and he’s expected to miss multiple games.

Now, the Browns, already short on options at quarterback even before the season began, will now turn to rookie Cody Kessler. And that’s not an ideal option.

So, that begs the question … what about that old Cleveland Brown? That first round draft pick in Johnny Manziel?

Manziel was interviewed outside of some sort of restaurant by TMZ, and Manziel was straight up asked about whether a return to Cleveland as a starting quarterback was a possibility. Don’t count on it.

“I doubt that will happen,” Manziel said. “But I wish Mr. Haslam (Jimmy Hallam,  owner of the Browns) the best.”

Manziel was also quickly asked about his thoughts on Colin Kaepernick’s protesting during the national anthem. Manziel offered his support of Kaepernick.

“I believe Colin Kaepernick is standing up for what he believes in and he has a right to do that so,” Manziel said. “It’ll sort itself out.”

The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner is enrolled at Texas A&M. Specifics regarding his classes are confidential, but it is believed Manziel’s major is recreation, parks and tourism sciences.
