In his first game for the Minnesota Vikings, quarterback Sam Bradford had a lot on his mind.
He had only been with the Vikings for about two weeks, he was squaring off against one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL in Green Bay Packer Aaron Rodgers and he had to focus on getting a much-needed win against a divisional opponent.
But then he also had to figure out what in the world happened to his hand.
When Packers’ linebacker Clay Matthews hit Bradford in Sunday night’s game, he pinned Bradford’s non-throwing hand between his helmet and Bradford’s own body. And the hit immediately swelled up Bradford’s hand and took the color right out of it. Take a look.

What is that? It looked like his pinky has collapsed and his whole side of his hand has been completely drained of life.
Because Bradford is tougher than you and me, he stayed in the game. He was also able to lead his Vikings to a 17-14 victory. Not a bad night, even if his hand is partially dead.
