Through two games, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is off to a nightmare start.

Not only is Peterson’s 50 total rushing yards shockingly low and his 1.6 yards per rush is the lowest average of a player with at least 30 carries since 1970, but Peterson went down with a right knee injury.

Peterson had to be carried off of the field and was seen after the game with a knee brace and crutches. But the injury may not be as severe as initially thought, at least according to Vikings’ head coach Mike Zimmer.

“He might miss a week. I don’t know if he will or not,” Zimmer told ESPN’s Ben Goessling. “Whatever it was has calmed down now, so we’ll see.”

Peterson was not the only big-name NFLer to go down with an injury. In fact, Peterson wasn’t even the only big-name running back to go down. Here’s more Week 2 injuries.

Jimmy Garoppolo

New England Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a sprained AC joint injury after Miami Dolphin linebacker Kiko Alonso drove him hard into the ground. Garoppolo, who is filling in as the Patriots’ starting quarterback for the suspended Tom Bray, was replaced by rookie Jacoby Brissett. The injury is believed to be day-to-day, but with the Patriots Week 3 matchup against Houston Texans on Thursday, Garoppolo’s status for the game is certainly questionable.

DeMarcus Ware

Denver Broncos linebacker DeMarcus Ware fractured his ulna when trying to sack Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. The nine-time Pro Bowler recorded half a sack earlier in the game, making him ninth-all time in career sacks, with 136.5. It is not yet known if Ware will be able to play through the injury.

Danny Woodhead

San Diego Chargers running back Danny Woodhead had to be carted off of the field with an apparent knee injury. Woodhead is scheduled for a MRI on Monday. The Chargers have already lost wide receiver Keenan Allen to a torn ACL. Woodhead was not contacted on the play in which he went down.

Doug Martin

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin exited Sunday’s game in the second quarter with a hamstring injury after just seven carries against the Arizona Cardinals. Martin’s status is not yet known for Week 3.
