Sunday’s Los Angeles Rams-Seattle Seahawks games marked the first time a professional NFL game was played in Tinseltown since 1994. The Rams won the game 9-3, but a chunk of fans weren’t able to see the first victory in 22 years.
About 160 people attending the game were treated for heat-related illnesses, The Associated Press reported. Fourteen of those people were taken to the hospital, but none in critical condition, according to Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
Temperatures hovered in the 90-degree range during the game.
It’s pretty well known that Los Angeles can get pretty hot. And when it is pretty hot, people don’t normally sit outside cooking in the heat for a four-hour football game. It’s just a scary issue the Los Angeles Rams will have to deal with in the early part of their season.
