Trash talk between players within a single sport is pretty common. In fact, it’s almost a part of the game.
But trash talk between players of entirely different sports is a bit unusual.
That didn’t stop Cleveland Cavalier J.R. Smith calling out New York Jets corner Darelle Revis.
Revis wasn’t exactly having an ideal game against the Buffalo Bills. And Smith made sure to get a jab in on Revis Island.
Damn #Revisisland turning into a tourist resort… #JustSaying

That didn’t really fly with Revis. So he made sure to fire back a response.
@TheRealJRSmith still heading to Canton though. What about you??? 👀

That’s a pretty solid comeback because he’s right. Revis will probably end up in the Hall of Fame. Smith probably won’t/
Smith tried to play it off as some sort of words of encouragement-type tweet.
Don’t be sensitive…Be better…Respect that someone got you an let that feeling remind you to not let it happen again. #ProToPro @Revis24

And Revis seemed to take the insult lightly.
We both won ships. We both will go down in the history books. Just think its funny him saying that especially after we’ve crossed paths. ☺️

Seems like the momentary Twitter beef was just that, momentary.
