ASHBURN — Washington Redskins defensive end Kendall Reyes and inside linebacker Martrell Spaight have been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Reyes sustained a groin injury last week and was questionable for the season opener, but played 18 snaps against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. He aggravated the injury on Wednesday and did not practice on Thursday or Friday.

Spaight was limited in practice on Friday and participated in individual drills. He did not sustain a concussion in last week’s game or any practices since then, but was experiencing symptoms.

The second-year outside linebacker missed all of last season after sustaining a concussion in the third preseason against the Baltimore Ravens. He played the final preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and then the season-opener against the Miami Dolphins. It wasn’t until after the Dolphins game that Spaight appeared on the injury report and he wasn’t placed on injured reserve until Sept. 22, nearly a month after the initial injury occurred.

“Yeah, there’s a level of concern here,” coach Jay Gruden said on Friday. “He’s still undergoing all the tests and stuff. He just had some issues that we had to get checked out. He doesn’t know when it occurred, it wasn’t in practice, it just came up. We had to make sure we took care of him.”

Spaight underwent an eye examination to determine if he was experiencing sensitivity to light and is expected to undergo more examinations next week.

Left tackle Trent Williams sat out practice on Friday after being limited on Thursday with a glute and hip injury. He said his absence on Friday was so he could rest and didn’t expect it to keep him out of Sunday’s game, but he is listed as questionable.

Defensive end Chris Baker, wide receiver Josh Doctson (Achilles tendon tendonitis) and inside linebacker Su’a Cravens are all questionable. Baker has a rib and elbow injury and was limited in practice this week, but said he’ll be “good to go.” Cravens is dealing with a hip flexor injury.
