Conservative firebrand James O’Keefe went to the University of California, Berkeley, to see how students would react to a pro-Donald Trump demonstration — and what ensued was absolute pandemonium.
The undercover videomaker, who heads Project Veritas, constructed an easily destructible wall on a campus quad in a nod to Mr. Trump’s immigration policy, testing whether social justice warriors at the overwhelmingly liberal university could resist kicking out a leg or throwing an object to send the hollow red and blue bricks tumbling down.
It quickly became clear that they couldn’t.
Several students intentionally rode their bikes into the wall, and one student was caught on video throwing an object into the wall before quickly turning tail and running away.
Donning a “Make America Great Again” T-shirt and holding a cardboard cutout of the billionaire businessman, Mr. O’Keefe got into testy exchanges with several students who implored him to leave the Bay Area campus.
One student — who would go on to knock down the wall himself — told Mr. O’Keefe that the idea of a border wall is “such a surface level perspective” on how to halt illegal immigration into the country.
The demonstration eventually drew attention from a sizable crowd of students who formed a human wall around the bricks to prevent the reconstruction of the wall, poured water onto pro-Trump chalkings and chanted “[Expletive] your wall!”
