James Corden, the British comedian who hosts CBS’s “Late Late Show,” will return as the emcee of the Hollywood Film Awards on Nov. 6, Variety reported Wednesday.

“The awards ceremony, now in its 20th year, is touted as the official launch of the awards season,” the entertainment-news magazine said.

Mr. Corden — himself a Best Actor award winner four years earlier for his role in the comedy “One Man, Two Guvnors” — hosted the 2016 Tony Awards in June, where he worked in his popular “Carpool Karaoke” bit into the show’s program.

“Hamilton” playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda, actress Jane Krakowski, musical-theater veteran Audra McDonald and actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson all took turns crooning along with the 38-year-old comedian, according to TonyAwards.com.
