ALAMOGORDON, N.M. (AP) - Alamogordo police are asking the public not to engage in any clown-related antics after two incidents.
The Alamogordo Daily News reported (https://bit.ly/2e1FL1J) Saturday that authorities are continuing to investigate after a clown was spotted around a school and two other clowns allegedly sprayed Silly String at people.
Police Chief Daron Syling says students reported seeing someone wearing a clown mask Thursday morning in a wooded area around Chaparral Middle School.
Officers have since identified three boys allegedly involved. Charges are pending against them.
Syling says officers later received a report of two people in clown costumes running up to others and spraying them with Silly String.
Police have not identified any suspects.
Syling says while the pranks seem harmless, they can lead to serious injury to the perpetrators or victims.
