SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - Chattanooga was picked to win a second straight Southern Conference title in voting by both league coaches and media.

Chattanooga went 29-6 a year ago, winning the league’s regular-season and tournament titles to reach the NCAA Tournament.

League coaches picked East Tennessee second followed by Wofford, Mercer, Furman and UNCG.



East Tennessee was also second in media voting with Furman and Wofford tied for third.

SoCon coaches selected Mocs forward Tre’ McLean as the preseason player of the year. McLean, a senior from Charleston, South Carolina, averaged 12.1 points and 6.3 rebounds to lead Chattanooga last season.
