Who’s back: F Zach LeDay. Senior led the Hokies in scoring (15.5) and rebounding (7.9) last season; G Seth Allen. Senior was No. 2 scorer (14.4 ppg) and got to free throw line 219 times; G Ahmed Hill. Sophomore is solid defender and returns after missing last season with broken foot.
Who’s new: G/F Ty Outlaw. Transfer junior and dead-eye shooter is cleared to play after being monitored last season for a heart condition.
The Skinny: The Hokies were the surprise of the ACC last season, finishing as the sixth seed, but they won’t be sneaking up on people this year. Williams finally has enough players, barring significant injuries, to have more than enough talent to look to match, or improve on, last season’s finish.
