ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A former day care worker at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson has avoided jail time in a child pornography case.

KTUU-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2erMJya ) that 25-year-old Brittany Alexandra Robinson was sentenced Thursday to three years in prison with three years suspended. She must also serve five years of probation.

Robinson had pleaded guilty to one count of indecent viewing of photography last year as part of a plea deal. The agreement dropped 30 felony charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.

Anchorage police say an undercover investigation in 2013 revealed that Robinson had been viewing and trading images and videos of children being sexually assaulted.

Robinson, who now lives out of state, apologized in court her actions.

In handing down the suspended sentence, the judge said he believed Robinson could be rehabilitated.
