HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) - Police have identified a man who was found with traumatic injuries inside a park on Long Island and later died at a hospital.

Newsday reports (https://nwsdy.li/2eNjNDy ) investigators say 31-year-old Luis Estrada, of Hempstead, was found unconscious in a Hempstead park on Tuesday night. Police say he was declared dead at a hospital hours later.

Nassau County police said Wednesday they’re investigating the death as a homicide.

Det. Lt. Richard LeBrun says there are currently no indications that Estrada’s death is gang-related.

Estrada’s death comes after four Brentwood high school teens were found dead within the past six weeks, all suspected victims of gang violence.

Newsday says the remains of a fifth Brentwood teen, who was a known gang member and had been reported missing in June, were found on Monday.
