CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) - Three Long Island residents and a New Jersey woman have been charged with human trafficking after authorities say they forced three teen girls to a motel to engage in prostitution.
Authorities say Edwin Boneta, of Central Islip (EYE’-slihp), and Jefferson Contreras of Bay Shore, have been charged with human trafficking, promoting prostitution of a juvenile and endangering the welfare of a child.
Their attorneys weren’t immediately available.
Prosecutors say Selena Boneta, of West Babylon, is charged with facilitation of human trafficking and endangering the welfare of a child. Her attorney tells Newsday she plans to seek bail.
Prosecutors say Stephanie Boneta, of Paterson, New Jersey, has been charged with facilitation of human trafficking and endangering the welfare of a child.
It wasn’t immediately known if Stephanie Boneta has an attorney.
