MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Prichard police have arrested 16-year-old boy and charged him with second degree assault for shooting a teen at Vigor High School on Tuesday.

Police Department spokesman Philip Steil says the teen that was shot in the abdomen is expected to recover.

Steil tells local news outlets the 16-year-old suspect turned himself in Wednesday afternoon.



The shooting took place near some parked cars after school had been dismissed around 3:45 p.m.

The victim’s name and age have not been release.

Police have not release a motive for the shooting.
