HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - A Hattiesburg man is facing a sex charge involving a patient at a healthcare facility where he worked.

Local news outlets report that the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office says in a news release that 23-year-old James Haydel was arrested Tuesday following an indictment by a Forrest County grand jury for one count of sexual battery of a vulnerable person.

Haydel is accused of engaging in sexual penetration with a vulnerable person who was a patient at a healthcare facility in Hattiesburg. Officials say Haydel was working as a clinical assistant there at the time.

If convicted, Haydel faces up to 30 years in prison. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
