MEBANE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities are searching for a man who an 11-year-old girl says abducted her from a bus stop and sexually assaulted her in a church parking lot.
The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office tells news outlets the girl flagged down a vehicle for help Tuesday morning, about 45 minutes after she was seized by a man while waiting for her school bus.
The girl says a man between the ages of 35 and 45 had driven away with her, sexually assaulted her and then released her.
Deputies described the vehicle as a gray four-door car that was possibly a Buick that may have a sticker on the back with a skull on it.
