KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The University of Tennessee says a second candidate for the open chancellor’s position is set to visit the Knoxville campus.
The university says in a news release that a forum with Beverly Davenport is scheduled for Monday. Davenport was appointed the interim president at the University of Cincinnati in July.
The Knoxville News Sentinel (https://bit.ly/2eD2d31 ) reports University of Georgia provost Pamela S. Whitten came to Knoxville a week ago. The university has not released the name of a third candidate that it plans to interview.
The university expects to name a successor to Jimmy Cheek by year’s end. Cheek resigned earlier this year to rejoin the university’s faculty after seven years as chancellor.
