CHICAGO (AP) - Hundreds of poor people will be treated to dinner thanks to a World Series wager between Catholic bishops in Cleveland and Chicago.
Chicago Archbishop Blase Cupich (blayz SOO’-pich) and Cleveland Bishop Richard Lennon bet on the series between the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs.
Cupich pledged that if the Cubs lost, he’d send Chicago-style pizzas to Cleveland to feed more than 100 guests at the Bishop William M. Cosgrove Center.

Lennon said if the Indians lost he’d send a Cleveland-style feast of pierogi and kielbasa to feed more than 100 homeless people.
After the Cubs won, the bishops decided they’d both pay up.
Cupich says both teams put in a great effort. He says “Our city is celebrating with our Cubs, and we want to include our friends in Cleveland.”
