French police are searching for a suspect in the fatal stabbing of a woman in the laundry room of a retirement home for Catholic monks.

The stabbing victim was found Thursday night in the laundry room of the Maison des Chênes Verts, a retirement facility for an order of monks who do missionary work in Africa, CNN reported.

Police were alerted to the crime scene by a woman who says an attacker tied her up earlier in the evening, CNN reported.

“What counts right now is to find this man as quickly as possible,” said Christophe Barret, a prosecutor in the city of Montpelier in the south of France. “He is very dangerous.”

Mr. Barret told me he did not believe the killing to be terror-related, although he admitted the motive was not known.
