TV personality Ellen DeGeneres was temporarily delayed from entering the White House grounds on Tuesday for lack of photo ID.

“They haven’t let me in to the White House yet because I forgot my ID. #NotJoking#PresidentialMedalOfFreedom,” the comedian tweeted shortly after noon Tuesday, NBC’s local Washington affiliate reported.

Ms. DeGeneres was granted admission a little while later, tweeting “I’m in,” and attaching a short video of her and other Presidential Medal of Freedom awardees engaged in a “mannequin challenge.”

The official White House statement from Nov. 16 naming the current slate of Medal of Freedom recipients hailed Ms. DeGeneres as “a passionate advocate for equality and fairness.”

In February, President Obama became the first sitting U.S. president to appear in-studio for an interview on Ms. DeGeneres’s eponymous afternoon talk show. First lady Michelle Obama has been a repeat guest on Ms. DeGeneres’ program, even co-hosting with the comedian back in September.
