Another night, another Washington Wizards starter injured.

Small forward Otto Porter left Monday night’s 106-101 Washington win against the Phoenix Suns in the third quarter because of right hip inflammation. He did not return to the bench.

Wizards coach Scott Brooks had little to add after the game. Porter, at this point, is day-to-day. The Wizards do not play again until Friday in Orlando.

Last week after back-to-back games, Porter walked looked stiff when walking through the lockerroom and joked that he had “that back-to-back soreness.” He looked to again be uncomfortable after Saturday’s game.

Porter was off to the best start of his four-year career, averaging 14.9 points and 8.2 rebounds this season. He starts as the team’s small forward, then swings to the “stretch four” spot in smaller lineups.

Starting point guard John Wall missed two games this season to aid in his recovery from offseason knee surgeries. Shooting guard Bradley Beal missed three consecutive games because of hamstring tightness. Power forward Markieff Morris left the game Nov. 19 because of a sprained right ankle. Morris started and played 26:22 Monday night.

If Porter is to miss any time, second-year wing Kelly Oubre Jr. is his likely replacement. Oubre played a season-high 25:14 Monday night in Porter’s absence.
