FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A North Texas man has been acquitted of disorderly conduct-related counts for refusing to give up his rifle during a protest over the fatal shooting of an unarmed black suspect by police.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram (https://bit.ly/2exZRQi ) reports jurors Tuesday found LaShadion Shemwell of McKinney not guilty. Arlington police in June arrested Shemwell for disorderly conduct/displaying a weapon in a threatening manner and resisting arrest.
An attorney for Shemwell said the U.S. was founded on protests and his client was exercising his rights.
