ASHDOWN, Ark. (AP) - A former jail administrator accused of sexually assaulting a prisoner while she was with the Little River County Sheriff’s Department has pleaded guilty to furnishing prohibited articles.
The Texarkana Gazette (https://bit.ly/2fhEuD3 ) reports that the sexual assault charge against Mary Ann Gibson was dismissed because the prisoner later died. Gibson was accused of providing the man with items such as tobacco products, food from restaurants and a cell phone while he was in jail.
She was sentenced to five years of probation Tuesday for the prohibited articles charge and also received a $500 fine.
