After a 97-yard, 10-reception game Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. became the fastest player in NFL history to record 3,500 receiving yards.

Beckham, 24, set the record in the second quarter of just his 36th game. The previous record-holder, Lance Alworth, hit the mark at 37 games in 1965. Alworth was inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1978.

So far this season, Beckham has 773 yards and 6 touchdowns, ranking him seventh and fourth, respectively, in the NFL.

Beckham powered the Giants to a 21-20 victory over the Bengals with a touchdown in the second quarter, giving the Giants their sixth win of the season. The Giants now sit second in the tight NFC East Division behind the 8-1 Dallas Cowboys.

The Giants play the Chicago Bears at home Sunday.
