Goff has not made a single appearance for the Rams yet this season. Instead, the Rams have gone with Case Keenum, who has just 2,169 passing yards, 9 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Goff will be the sixth rookie to start at quarterback in this NFL season.
In a three-year career at the University of California, Goff finished with 12,195 passing yards, 96 touchdowns and 30 interceptions in 37 games.
In four preseason appearances, Goff struggled, especially in his last two games. Goff started off his professional career by completing 12 of his 21 passes, but in his final two appearances, Goff completed just 10 of his 28 pass attempts.
The Rams are 4-5, good for third in the NFC West.
