All six remaining contestants on CBS’s “Big Brother: Over the Top” reality show were chagrined to learn that Donald Trump won the presidency.

The cast, which is deprived of all outside contact with the real world during its time on the show, was given the news by host Julie Chen.

“It’s pretty safe to say you are the only six people in the country, maybe in the entire world, who do not know who won,” Ms. Chen teased the anxious contestants on Thursday night’s episode, Variety magazine reported. “It’s time to find out.”

After learning the news, the house guests began to process the stunning news.

“That’s what I said, the majority who typically vote are older white Republican males,” said contestant Danielle Vickey, who is a teacher by trade. “I was really hoping that our generation would take their voice and let it be heard.”

“Can we just stay in here for the next four years?” quipped contestant Jason Roy.

The cast’s reactions hardly seem a microcosm of the electorate, which was roughly divided in half between the major party nominees.

“I couldn’t tell if we were all on the same page [politically],” said Shelby Stockton, 24, a recent law school graduate. “I kind of feel like were were now.”
