A suspected armed robber is on life support after he was shot several times by a concealed carrier at a Dallas-area Waffle House.
One customer, who was legally carrying a concealed handgun, followed the robber into the parking lot because he was afraid for the safety of his wife, who was on her way to join him at the Waffle House, The Morning News reported.
The customer called out to the robber, who turned and pointed the rifle at him, police said. The customer then shot Mr. Cooper several times.
Police officers arrived on the scene and found the suspect lying in the parking lot. He was transported to a local hospital and remains on life support, reports said Wednesday.
Police have not filed charges against the unidentified customer who shot Mr. Cooper.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing and will be referred to a grand jury, the New York Daily News reported.
