HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - A Madison County judge has revoked a $60,000 bond for a man accused of killing a young mother, her boyfriend and her 3-year-old son in a car crash.

Multiple media outlets report 22-year-old Carai Cortez, of Huntsville, is accused of violating the conditions of his release on bail by leaving the state without permission to attend a football game in Louisiana, consuming alcohol and failing to register for drug and alcohol screenings.

Judge Claude E. Hundley ordered Cortez be held without bail Thursday and set a hearing on the issue. A date has not been released.

Cortez allegedly was drunk when he was driving west in the eastbound lanes of I-565 and collided head on with an SUV in May.

Defense attorney Chad Morgan couldn’t be reached immediately for comment.
