EATONTOWN, N.J. (AP) - Two men have been charged with murder in the shooting death of a man killed outside an apartment complex.
Monmouth County prosecutors say 20-year-old Frederick Reed, of New Castle, Delaware, and 30-year-old Perry Veney, of Long Branch, also face weapons charges stemming from the death of Rasheem Palmer.
The 37-year-old Red Bank man was shot in July 2015 at the Country Club apartments in Eatontown. He died a short time later at a hospital.
Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive for the shooting.
Bail was set at $1.1 million cash for Reed, who is awaiting extradition from Delaware. Veney turned himself in on Friday and was being held on $1.2 million bail.
It wasn’t known if either man has retained an attorney.
