WALDORF, Md. (AP) - The State Fire Marshal’s Office say a man accused of setting his house on fire with his wife and her children inside has been arrested in North Carolina.

Authorities say the fire occurred Dec. 15 in a house in Waldorf. Investigators say after an argument with his wife, 40-year-old Eric White set the house on fire while his wife and her children were in the house. The fire marshal’s office says no one was hurt, and the blaze caused $35,000 in damage.

Maryland authorities say U.S. Marshals arrested White Tuesday at his parents’ home in Hickory, North Carolina. Law enforcers say White is awaiting extradition to Maryland, where he faces charges of arson and attempted murder.
