Corey Lewandowski, Donald Trump’s right-hand man turned TV pundit, is starting a consulting firm in Washington, D.C. The ex-Trump campaign manager made the announcement via Twitter Wednesday.
“Proud to launch our new venture today to support @realDonaldTrump achieve his agenda in Washington D.C.,” he wrote, attaching a photo of a press release announcing the launch of Avenue Strategies. Barry Bennett, a senior adviser to Mr. Trump’s campaign, is also on board the venture as a principal.
In the news release, Mr. Lewandowski said he had been offered various jobs in the Trump administration but decided “I can best help [President-elect Trump] outside the formal structure of the government.”
Mr. Lewandowski was fired from the campaign in June, and pollster and veteran GOP strategist Kellyanne Conway was the last to take over that position. He almost immediately signed on with CNN as a paid contributor, but resigned that post in November to pursue a job with the Trump administration, as CNN media reporter Brian Stelter noted at the time.
But while he won’t be in the Trump White House, Mr. Lewandowski will be working awfully close to it. According to its bare-bones website, Avenue Strategies is located a block west of the White House at 1717 Pennsylvania Ave., Northwest, in Suite 1025.
An internet search of the firm’s address reveals that the office space belongs to “virtual office”-leasing firm Servcorp.
“Commit to as little as one month, where otherwise it would be five years or more,” reads Servcorp’s listing for the Pennsylvania Avenue office space.
“Impress your clients with a prestigious central business address and a dedicated receptionist fielding your calls,” the company website reads, touting its “virtual office” package. “You’ll have access to boardrooms, private offices and coworking space - all at a fraction of the cost of a physical office.”
