BRIDGETON, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a bar bouncer was shot and wounded by a man he had told to leave the business.

The shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the El Rodeo Bar in Bridgeton.

Authorities didn’t say why the 51-year-old bouncer had told the man to leave bar. But they say that as he was walking out, the man turned and shot the bouncer with a handgun before fleeing the scene.

The bouncer was struck by one shot. He was flown to a hospital and remained there Monday in stable condition.

His name and further details on his injuries have not been disclosed.
