DALY CITY, Calif. (AP) - Police say a woman was beaten to death in the San Francisco Bay Area in an alleged domestic dispute and that her boyfriend was arrested in the case.

Daly City police responded to a call about a domestic dispute just after midnight on Saturday and found 23-year-old Ariana Hatami severely beaten.

Daly City police spokesman Sgt. Ron Harrison says Hatami was taken to a hospital where she succumbed to her wounds. He says early indications suggest Hatami died from blunt force trauma, but the investigation is ongoing.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/2i1FIU9) Hatami’s boyfriend, 24-year-old Fredrick Tran, of San Francisco, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.

Tran was being held without bail at Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City.
