SALISBURY, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say an emergency call to check on a heart attack victim in Salisbury has turned into a homicide investigation.

Police told media outlets that when paramedics and officers arrived at the home around 2 a.m. Saturday, they found 37-year-old Albert Shelton Jr. dead from a gunshot wound.

Investigators have not named any suspects or given a possible motive for the shooting.

Shelton is the third person killed by someone else in Salisbury in December.
