A knife-wielding robber at a Texas gas station got body-slammed by a Texas fireman instead of the cash he was after.

Daniel Gaskey, who is also a Marine veteran, is being hailed as a hero for his quick thinking on June 26 while inside an Exxon Oasis Food Store in Midlothian, Texas.

Police say Mr. Gaskey threw Dylan Bearden to the ground and disarmed him of a knife, a Fox News affiliate in St. Louis reported Thursday. Mr. Bearden has been charged with aggravated robbery.

Mr. Gaskey has been with the Mansfield Fire Department in Texas for over a year, the station reported.
