OWLS HEAD, Maine (AP) - Federal investigators say a truck driver and small plane pilot are both at fault for a crash that killed three men at a Maine airport.
The Portland Press Herald (https://bit.ly/1mIekv5) reports the National Transportation Safety Board faulted both parties in a report issued Friday. The crash occurred at Knox County Regional Airport in November 2012.
Sixty-three-year-old Camden resident Stephen Turner drove his pickup truck across a runway and collided with a single-engine plane piloted by 24-year-old William Hannigan of South Portland. The plane spun as it took off and then crashed. Hannigan and passengers 22-year-old David Cheney of Beverly, Massachusetts, and 24-year-old Marcelo Rugini of Brazil, were killed.
