CHICAGO (AP) - Radio stations in Chicago are taking part in a citywide anti-violence program by urging listeners not to use guns.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced Friday that the stations were taking part in the initiative called “Put the Guns Down.”
A number of both English and Spanish-speaking stations have agreed to air public service announcements from radio personalities and celebrities. They also will host a monthly simulcast focusing on community responsibility and remind listeners about anti -violence programs.
